NASHVILLE, Tenn. • When you enter the Nashville Zoo, with its piped-in animals sounds, tribal music, lush foliage and rope-lined boardwalk, you almost get the feeling that you are about to visit a remote village, or maybe something more along the lines of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
CHICAGO • In Chicago, you have the choice between two zoos: the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Brookfield Zoo. The Lincoln Park zoo is quite small by our zoo’s standards, but near Lake Michigan and with an intimate urban vibe. The Brookfield Zoo is massive, with elaborate exhibits, but it’s about 14 miles from downtown.
COLUMBUS, Ohio • People around Columbus tend to reference Jack Hanna every time they mention the city’s zoo. It’s Jack Hanna’s zoo. It’s the zoo that Jack Hanna built, etc.
